WE THE PEOPLE of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
America The Preamble of the Constitution is perceived to carry significant weight in the nation’s development and current political state. How we each interpret these few sentences varies often by if, and how, one was taught about American and political history, whether in school, at home, or elsewhere. How we each establish our opinion of the Preamble and the Constitution as a whole is influenced by self and group identification throughout history and in today’s world. Although I cannot personally identify with the concept of We the People, I understand why many consider these few words so substantial.
