Amendment 1

Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Freedom, freedom, freedom! This amendment allows us to express ourselves in multiple ways, even if we wish to criticize our own government. But to some extent, our expression is not entirely protected in some instances. Although we wish to see an equal and justifiable treatment of freedom amongst all, forms freedom vary in significance based on one's social adversity.

Freedom of Religion: Religious Freedom by the Numbers by Brian J. Grim

Realistically, our world lacks freedom of religion and, unfortunately, social hostility coexists. This includes the Muslim community, their literature, buildings, and more, are restricted by the government. Even more severely, social hospitality destroys (burns) their religious symbols and sacred places. Half of our country lives in countries with high social hostility; we see greater social hospitalities in counties with higher government restrictions. Consequently, there are high volumes of imprisonment across the globe.

Amendment VIII

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted. In other words, is the punishment permissible? This amendment ensures that one who is accused will not be charged with absurd punishments. Though 'excessive' or 'unusual' is not defined, the court will determine what is appropriate for the accuser.  Or so they say. For the past decade, we as a nation has revisited the charges and punishments inflicted on different individuals for various accusations. One specifically, currently receiving attention on social media, is the intense charge for being found carrying small amounts of illegal substances.
